Bob Lynd, 76, died at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021. He was born on October 26th, 1944 in Tacoma, WA., the son of Robert Campbell Lynd and Louise Deanne Wagner.

Robert graduated from Franklin Pierce High School, class of 1963. Following graduation he spent a brief period of time in community college, with a passion for Marine Biology, before going to serve in the US Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War in 1965. After the war he came home to his widowed mother in Gig Harbor where he started his apprenticeship as a journeyman lineman, and did work in Alaska. He came back to Gig Harbor where he lived a very comfortable life until the day he passed. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, who he loved deeply, with friendships that endured over 50 years, watching football, skydiving, birdwatching, scuba diving, and reading.

Bob is survived by his twin daughters, Tawny Townsend-Klein and Lyndsay Townsend, his sister Jeanne Morrison, cousins Katherine and Joe Bilanko, nieces Elizabeth and Kate Morrison, nephew James and wife Jennifer Morrison, grandniece and nephew Fiona and Dashiell Carpenter, and grandson Rocco Klein.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 18th at Bob’s place, from 11-3:00, where his ashes will be scattered in the Burley Lagoon. Food and refreshments will be provided. Those who would like to bring a favorite dish are welcomed to do so.

I remember  Bob when we started the Par Teens, a dance for the young teens in Parkland rented hall. I can't remember a lot about the actual dance but I do believe Bob was part of the group that started this.  I did meet Bob's twin girls when they were in Alaska with their mom.  I think that we talked on the phone at this time and he was a lineman.  It has been a very long time ago but Bob was a good friend.
