Marie was my close friend in the pre teen years and her father, Jack Siler, played the sax at the Tacoma Crystal Ballroom and we were allowed to go there and dance. Marie and some of our friends started the Parkland Par
Teens Dance at the Parklamd Community Center. Marie lived on Pipeline Road or Aquaduct Drive and there was a very mean old man named "old man Bundy" who lived between us and we had to run through his property to get back and forth. He had a grandson named Ted who came over to play when he was about ten. We were so afraid of this old guy so there were times I would go all the way around his house the long way to avoid him.
One day I took a horse, an old white circus horse named Trixie, to Marie's house the long way and the horse would not go forward at all and I had to take the saddle off and carry the saddle and walk him home. I guess the horse knew who was boss.

Dear Marie: I have missed you so much and think of our times together often. Like
our self guided tour of the Winthrop Hotel. You thinking you were a better driver
than me cause you could drive your dad's riding lawnmower down Pipeline road.
The time we carried a case of pineapples home on the city bus cause you liked
pineapple. Then along came Dennis. Being in each other's weddings. Your daughters
wedding reception at the Tacoma Yacht Club. We will have a lot to catch up on
when we see each other again and won't have to spend hours on the phone
doing it! Love you. Miss you. Charlotte
