Leah Virginia Betts Daffron

Leah Daffron passed away peacefully in her home in Mukilteo, Washington, on November 16, 2006, after a three-year struggle with cancer. Leah was born in Tacoma, Washington, on January 2, 1945.

She graduated from Western Washington State College in 1967 with a degree in Education. She began her teaching career in Edmonds, Washington, that same year. Leah spent 30 years teaching elementary school in the Edmonds School District except for a two-year stint on Lopez Island, Washington.

She married Michael J. Daffron in 1971 and they have been residents of Mukilteo ever since. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends and also traveling and reading. Leah was the most caring person one could ever know.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael; and niece, Cameron Wilson, of Portland, Oregon.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Beck's Garden Chapel, 405 – 5th Avenue S., Edmonds, private entombment at Acacia Mausoleum in Seattle, Washington.

At her request, memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood, or the charity of your choice.

I'm sorry to have lost contact with Leah.  She was a dear friend in high school, until I moved away in my senior year.  I remember many sleepovers at her house & we played the most fun card game.  From her memorial, she & I lived very close in the Everett area for many years.  I'm please to see that she went on to a great teaching career.  She obviously must have been very good at that.  I look forward to a heavenly reunion one fine day!
